Negative Reviews
negative:
It can be pricey
Ruidoso is a popular area, where things tend to be more expensive in-season. Quality Inn & Suites Ruidoso is no exception to these seasonal price increases. Guests who stayed at times when the rates were higher tended feel that, while their stay was perfectly fine, it was not worth what they paid for it.
negative:
Weird smells and weird tasting water
Many guests noted that this was a common phenomenon in the Ruidoso area but several reviews complained that there was a foul smell in the guest rooms as common areas of the hotel. They described it as a faint scent of sulfur. The water also suffers, and quite a few reviewers said it tasted so bad that they would only drink bottled water during their stay.

Renovations in progress
According to recent reviews, the hotel is currently undergoing renovations. As such, it may be unfair to note that older reviews contain many, many complaints about the fixtures being run down and in need of replacement. More recent guests recommend requesting a renovated room.
