Positive Reviews
positive:
Beautiful setting
Guests frequently fall in love with this beautiful resort just a short stroll from the pretty marina. The complex is majestic and well-maintained, with a lovely heated pool, and most of all clean. Guests also appreciate the free shuttle bus that enables them to enjoy the other El Cid complexes – and perhaps take a bite there too - and the free water-taxi to the private beach.
positive:
Accommodating staff
Guests, on the whole, agree that the staff at El Cid Marina Beach are very professional and friendly. They speak excellent English and have great customer service skills - from the manager and front desk staff to the waiters and housekeeping.
positive:
Nice spacious rooms
Guests appreciate the space that their suites offer. With separate living areas to relax in and wonderful views, you should feel at home and relaxed.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Extra charges
Guests are pretty disappointed to not have Wi-Fi included in their rates. You have to pay extra – and it is not cheap either. You are charged a daily rate – per device, which guests find difficult to accept when they feel that such facilities should be automatically included. It is not only the Wi-Fi which is extra, guests are also dismayed to find that they have to fok out more to use the gym or to even make a coffee in the room.
negative:
Hard-sell timeshare
Guests are often not very pleased with the hard-sell sales techniques of the time-share representatives. Right from arrival you could be subjected to sales pitches and promises of freebies in exchange for visiting presentations.
negative:
Food options limited
Although guests often express that the food is of a good quality, there is only one restaurant onsite. This restaurant doesn't have an extensive choice or appear to offer authentic Mexican dishes.
