A number of previous guests to the hotel raved about its location commenting that as well as being central to downtown South Bend, that fact that the hotel was right on the river was an added bonus.

Guests to the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel South Bend had nothing but praise for the Atrium bar, with many saying it was a relaxing and inviting space to share a drink with friends or unwind after a full day of business meetings.

Guests who accessed the online check-in service were happy with how smoothly their stay at the hotel was, other guests who availed themselves of the normal check-in process also commented that it was smooth and swift.

Some guests to the hotel were not impressed by the size of the rooms and thought that they could also look at putting in bigger beds. The hotel does however have a range of room and bed configurations which can accomodate guests' specific needs.

Some guest reviewers who made specific comments about the cleanliness of the rooms were particularly annoyed by the dust on surfaces, which looked like it had not been attended too or had been overlooked by housekeeping a number of times.

Notwithstanding that many guest loved hanging out in the Atrium space, some guests stayed at the hotel when events and concerts were being held in the Atrium. These guests were disappointed that the quiet and peaceful stay they were anticipating was disrupted by the noise carried from the Atrium all over the hotel.
