Convenient central location is massive plus
A great many guests have purred over this hotel's handy central location. With the shops, restaurants and bars of Florida, Retiro and Recoleta within an easy stroll and both the cruise port and Aeroparque airport relatively close by, it's easy to see why.
positive:
Personnel provide top-notch service
It has been noted by many guests that most of the staff members here are really very good at what they do. The well informed receptionists, with their impressive English language skills, made the greatest impression.
positive:
Lobby, lounge and dining areas are exquisite
The vast majority of guests who've stayed here have been wowed by the refined, almost ornate public areas on the ground floor. Most visitors agreed that the wood-panelled walls, delightful sculptures and beautiful paintings (including a stunning wall mural by Juan Carlos Castagnino) help give this part of the hotel a somewhat rarefied ambience.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Standard accommodations aren't that great
Whilst many of the superior rooms here are quite satisfactory, it is clear those at the lower end of the budget scale leave something to be desired. Dirty carpets, peeling paint, cracked tiles and smelly toilets are just a few of the issues that have been reported all-too frequently by numerous disgruntled guests.
negative:
Soundproofing between rooms could be better
A significant number of visitors have highlighted the fact that noise travels almost unhindered throughout the accommodation areas. Some guests said that, at times, it almost felt like there was someone else in their room.
negative:
You have no control over the air-conditioning
This hotel has a centralised air-conditioning system which stops you from setting the temperature in your own room. Needless to say, very few guests warmed to this.
