Crover House Hotel & Golf Club (Mountnugent, Ireland)

The hotel is surrounded by acres of well-maintained grounds which provide a very picturesque backdrop. Guests appreciated the air of peace and tranquillity surrounding the hotel as well as the picture-postcard views of the Irish countryside. If you are looking for a relaxing countryside getaway then you certainly won’t be disappointed.

Guests were pleased to find plenty of activities on-site including fishing in Lough Sheelin and walking across the extensive gardens which also feature a golf course. Those looking to relax enjoyed spending time on the terrace admiring the views whilst others enjoyed the numerous treatments available at the spa.

From the breakfasts through to the afternoon cream teas and the evening meals, all of the food served at the hotel has been highly praised by the guests. Many said that the dishes were very  well prepared and beautifully presented whilst the menus were said to feature a wide range of items catering for various tastes and preferences.

Guests who wanted to  access the Internet from their rooms found the Wi-Fi signal to be quite weak and intermittent which meant that they had to log on several times in order to connect.

Quite a few guests reported that they were disturbed by the rather loud plumbing whilst others mentioned that they found it difficult to adjust the temperature during showering as the water would go from hot to cold intermittently.

Many who stayed at the hotel during the warmer months said that their rooms often felt too warm and stuffy. Other  guests objected to the fact that the heating is centrally controlled and said that radiators took quite some time to heat up the rooms.
