Commander Beach House Hotel (Ocean City, USA)

If you love being beside the sea then this is definitely one of the better places in Ocean City to stay: the beach and boardwalk are a minute's walk away and the pier can be easily reached on foot in around ten minutes.

You may not think that sitting out on a porch people watching as you rock back and forth is much of a way to pass a few hours in the evening. How wrong you'd be! There is something really very therapeutic about watching the world go by and feeling time slow down at the same time. Indeed, you can literally feel the stress ebb away. Wonderful.

The staff at the Buckingham prove that it is possible to be hard-working and professional in the hospitality trade without being robotic or pretentious. Excellent old-school customer service skills here.

It's a pretty small lot here so don't be surprised if there aren't any spaces available during busy periods. You should also be aware that this lack of space means parking up here is often a lot tighter than is healthy so be sure to keep an eye out for scratches on your panels and doors.

Don't book a room on one of the upper floors if you or any of your party have mobility issues: there's no guest elevator in the main building.

Aside from a few minor issues here and there (above) it is generally the case that most guests staying at the Buckingham tend to enjoy largely positive vacation experiences.
