Collingwood Arms Hotel (Coldstream, United Kingdom)

Guests were full of praises for the tasty and well-presented meals. Breakfast is cooked to order. The local oysters in delicious vinaigrette with grated shallot, and the blood orange and passion fruit sorbet deserved a special mention according to few guests. Desserts had a good variety that included liquid chocolate, doughnuts, marshmallows, lemon posset and panna cotta. Gluten-free menus are also available.

The pets are allowed as per the applicable charges. Guests can take their pets along with them to the bar area. All the staff members were very courteous and friendly. They were professional and knew their job very well.

Guests loved the spacious and clean rooms with good interior decor. Bathrooms are provided with big soft towels, gowns and top quality toiletries from Molten Brown. The building has an old time look and brought back many nostalgic moments for many guests.

The plug sockets in the room were not accessible at all, which was a great inconvenience when the guests wanted to charge their electronic devices. Rooms were very warm and were much in need of an air conditioner.

Some of the rooms near the kitchen could get very noisy till late into the night and early mornings too. Noise was due to the kitchen extractor fan which disturbed the guests.

The signal for mobile reception was quiet weak at the rear end of the hotel due to which the guests had to come out of their rooms to make calls.
