Positive Reviews
positive:
Excellent transport links nearby
Guests liked the fact that this hotel is just a short walk from Hamamatsucho metro station where the Yamanote loop line affords easy access to many of Tokyo's major sights. Having a station for the Haneda Airport monorail so close by was considered a real bonus too.
positive:
Friendly receptionists are very accommodating
Cheery, obliging and friendly to a fault; it's easy to see why so many visitors have highlighted the receptionists as a chief plus point of this hotel. They'll even stop you and give you an umbrella to use if you look like you're heading out into the rain without a raincoat!
positive:
Free tea and coffee in the lobby
Numerous guests have been impressed by the presence - and the quality - of the free tea and coffee in the lobby.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Can be noisy at times
Many guests have been disappointed to discover this hotel is set right next to the local train and monorail tracks. Sadly, this means that many of the rooms to the western side of the building suffer from train noise. Light sleepers should ask for a quiet room facing away from the tracks on one of the upper floors.
negative:
Accommodations are rather small
It is fair to say that the average size of the accommodations here is pretty small. No wonder then that so many guests found it such a struggle to open their suitcases when unpacking upon arrival.
negative:
Neighbourhood doesn't have much to offer tourists
Shibaura (like Minato in general) is ostensibly a business district so there isn't really that much to see or do around here, especially at weekends. With this in mind it is clear to see why very few non-business guests chose to stick around for more than a few days.
