Being only 20 minutes away from the airport by car, the hotel is ideal for short stop-overs and transit or for anyone needing to catch an early-morning flight, for example. Additionally, a number of markets, malls and supermarkets are in the vicinity.

The guest rooms at the Canal Hotel are quite generously sized, each with a sofa and coffee table or a separate seating area. They are also kept neat and clean, ensuring good value for the money paid.

From the well maintained gardens where you can enjoy the sunshine to the terrace around the restaurant with its water feature and planters, the hotel provides a calm and tranquil oasis in a busy city while still being close to many amenities.

Although the free wireless internet is convenient, it is not turned on for the whole duration of the day as there is a shut down time or period for it. Enquire at the reception as to when this is to avoid your internet use being disrupted.

Some previous guests have noted fairly hard beds/mattresses and generally furniture that could do with an update or some refreshing/repair. Although dated, the hotel interiors are nonetheless kept clean and tidy.

The Canal Hotel is better suited to living closer to and more like Bangkok locals than to exploring the famous historical and cultural sites of the city, so those wanting to see the more famous Bangkok may prefer a hotel closer to the action, so to speak.
