The hotel is situated right at the crossway of two major rivers and has beautiful scenes from many rooms and common areas. There are many restaurants within easy walking distance and the city of New Bern is a short traipse along a quaint bridge. For those boating in, the marina has many amenities including some repair services.

The hotel provides a good value with an affordable room rate. The rooms are clean and comfortable with big RVs and the free breakfast is a nice feature.

The staff seems to really care about your pleasure and comfort. They provide outstanding customer service and try hard to right any wrongs with the stay. They are helpful in both the hotel and marina areas.

Overall, the rooms and hotel give an outdated and tired appearance. The room features look worn and could do with a sprucing up. Some fixtures and features frequently break, which mar the pleasure of the stay.

There are frequent billing and computer issues that arise when booking online. Guests often don't receive their preferred accommodations and many reservations just end up in the black hole of cyberspace. It's best to speak to a human instead of relying on technology.

While there should be a difference in nonsmoking and smoking rooms, it's hard to tell a difference here. The smell of smoke is heavy throughout the entire place and even switching rooms provides little relief.
