Sorell Hotel Rütli's buffet breakfasts proved to be very popular for their tasty, premium ingredients sourced from the area and the wide array of goodies on offer — as well as for the fact that the coffee was excellent. Furthermore, the staff was thought to be highly hospitable, from the efficient but friendly check-in, to courteous, accommodating conduct all round.

The centrality of this hotel was thought to be fantastic and guests said they were placed for getting around the city, thanks to their proximity to the Zürich Central Station, trams and the polybahn. In particular, people mentioned they were close to plenty of shops, restaurants, the old town, Christmas markets and the famous Bahnhofstrasse.

Those who stayed reported finding modern, comfortable rooms with great amenities like free Wi-Fi and a fancy coffee machine. Although not necessarily luxurious, these were thought to offer a great standard of accommodation overall, at a price thought inexpensive for Zürich.

A small number of those who stayed at Sorell Hotel Rütli said that the rooms could be a bit noisy due to the street outside — if the windows were left open — but too hot if they were to instead keep them closed.

Not everyone was a fan of the mattresses, which were mentioned to be a bit too hard by a few guests. However, most people did not have any issues with them, so this may just be a matter of preference.
