Positive Reviews
positive:
Right on the old town.
Monte Kristo was found to have a fantastic location right on the edge of the old town, and you will find plenty of restaurants and bars as you walk in through the cobblestone streets. Guests also found it to be well-located for train and bus stations, but overall a quiet spot.
positive:
Good restaurant/breakfast fare.
The continental breakfasts were found to be of good quality, with a wide choice of cold cuts, cheese, salads and local savoury pancakes and were served in the cellar restaurant, which also was thought to have decent meals. On the other hand, people found the breakfast buffets to be a bit crowded and the selection of fare on offer was not everyone’s cup of tea.
positive:
Clean, well-equipped rooms.
Guests found the rooms here to be clean, well-equipped with everything they needed and mostly rather spacious, all at a decent price.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Some room observations.
While these were not all common observations, a few guests noted that the ground floor rooms allow passers-by to look in unless you draw the curtains, that some were dark and stuffy, a few had the possibility of some street noise or a funny smell of some sort.
negative:
Helpful but not particularly cheerful staff.
While Monte Kristo’s staff members were found to be helpful and good at what they do, some guests thought they were not particularly cheerful and would have liked to see a smile.
negative:
No free parking.
A small number of people were disappointed to find that there was no free parking made available for guests, with only paid private parking offered by the hotel.
