Positive Reviews
positive:
What a location
Bienville House is an ideal base for all of the attractions within the French Quarter. Pretty much everything is within walking distance, meaning you won't need to use your car or take a taxi if you don't want to. It's near a variety of different shops, restaurants and boat tours. It's a short walk to Bourbon Street and Jackson Square, yet far enough away for it to be quiet enough to ensure a quiet night's sleep.
positive:
A good place to chill out
The hotel has a nice little pool area. It's fun to have a swim or to sit in the courtyard. The whole area is kept very clean and it's a good place to spend some time.
positive:
Kind and attentive
Most of the staff at this hotel are friendly and will do their best to make sure you are having a nice stay. If you have a problem, they will sort it out for you swiftly.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Pricey and slow
The valet parking is pretty expensive. Not only that, but the vehicles are kept at a location a few blocks away, meaning that retrieving your car can take a really long time. If you need to be somewhere, make sure you leave plenty of time for staff to return your vehicle.
negative:
Room issues
Some of the guestrooms at Bienville House have no windows, which can be a pretty gloomy experience. Also, a few of the bathrooms are very small. Furthermore, the beds are really high off the ground. If you aren't very tall, you might need help getting up into them. The air-conditioning can be hard to adjust too.
negative:
Fairly basic
The breakfast at this hotel is passable, but not much more. You might be disappointed with the options available to you.
