Family Weekend

The house was much larger than even the description indicated, with each bedroom having large rooms, large closets, and large bathrooms. There was plenty of room for all 8 women to have their own beds and their own space with different sitting areas as well. We were very happy with the house, and having Rita from Sioux Food Center bring us meals topped off our weekend retreat with great food and service!

This is the 5th year that our group of 6 has stayed here. We love it!

Peaceful

We had a great weekend at the Innspirational B&B. We had five different family branches with thirteen all together (counting three babies) and we had plenty of room to ourselves and to move around. The house was clean and well equipped. Owners responded quickly when we had a problem. I recommend and would stay here again.

Great family get-away.

Home was perfect for a family reunion. Lots of space for a large gathering in the kitchen/family room area. Backyard is large enough for bocce, corn hole, etc. Nice pond with fire pit area. Met the owners at the winery, very accommodating. Very clean home!

Great place for a large group

This place created tons of memories for our family vacation. Provided everything we were looking for and then some. The place was immaculate and clean and gave our family of 16 plenty of space The pond was a hit for our grandkids. We were so pleased we already booked this place for next year. A great find !!!

Best Vacation Ever

We had a group of eight writers to Innspiration B&B and had more than enough room to spread out and write. The rooms were comfortable, there were more than enough chairs, and plenty of space to put food in the double refrigerator. Our retreat was a success and we would definitely book again!

Perfect for families or big groups

We originally booked this rental for a family getaway. Got engaged in the meantime. Decided to make this a small intimate wedding. I can’t express enough how absolutely perfect this property was for family bonding and small wedding. The property features so many fabulous areas for outside wedding or picnic, fishing, kayaking. It’s spacious enough inside in case of inclimate weather. The home has everything you could want or need. Paul stopped and welcomed us with a great tasting bottle of wine. The location is great for touring the area. One of Our favorites was being 40 minutes from Okiboji. We can’t think of a thing we would change about our stay. We have already talked about returning in the future. We would recommend this property to anyone but also would like to keep it our secret. Thanks again for making our stay and wedding a most memorable one.

Perfect For small romantic wedding.

4th time here, and as always it was a wonderful time for our entire family! We normally spend time outside on the deck, lawn or around the pond but it was too cold this year. The house was big enough, we played games, ping pong and just had a great time visiting. The kids loved the jetted tubs. Once again the time went to fast. Paul and Sheila are great to work with. Beautiful house and location

This home was perfect for our large family holiday retreat! We loved the open floor plan with plenty of room for everyone. The bedrooms offered privacy for family members needing a break from the excitement. There was plenty of storage with multiple refrigerators and large pantry. We hope to return in the summer to enjoy the lake and winery

The house was big enough for our family to be comfortable. The views were breathtaking. Everyone said a weekend was not long enough. I recommend this place wholeheartedly!!

We had a wonderful time and the accommodations were perfect.

Really huge facility, lots of space for everyone and lots of activities. Might possibly need a few more cooking utensils.

Thanksgiving Family reunion

We joined some friends here for a relaxing weekend. This home is very nice. It was clean and well equipped with extra bedding and a very well stocked kitchen. The property was beautiful . We enjoyed long walks down the country roads, took a dip in the pond and built a fire in the large fire pit along side of the pond.Sheila was very nice to deal with and always responded quickly to our questions. We would definitely book this home again.

This is a beautiful property! We rented both the winery, the loft, and the Vacation rental for our daughters wedding Sept 15. The home is huge and has amenities you wouldn’t expect. It worked wonderfully to have the ceremony in the back yard with the winery a quick jaunt on foot to the reception. The Thompson’s are great to work with and willing to flex on some things that were important. If we did it all over again. I would meet with them a last time 1 or 2 weeks prior and make sure we were all on the same page with what was happening so things were just the way we needed them. We had some extra work involved to get the property ready for the ceremony. Thankful we had several willing hands to take this load off of us as the parents. Overall a really great experience!

Relaxing Waters

We are just back from our vacation trip to IOWA. I’ve went to many vacations and have visited a number of vacation homes earlier, but this InnSpiration vacation home stands out among all of them. The owners have taken care of every minute necessity for the guests. This home has a fantastic lake view and a very well maintained backyard. The home itself is very spacious. Though the Tulip festival was a little disappointment for us due to the weather conditions, this home is truly great. I would recommend this home any day to a group of people planning to visit around Orange City/ IOWA. Many many thanks to the owners!

Insanely Awesome place for a Group Vacation!

Beautiful, spacious, clean, fun place. Room for our four adult children, spouses and grand-kids. Beautiful house, yard and pond to canoe in (to cold for swimming yet). Room to eat in or out on the deck, plenty of places to play games in and out. Very clean. This is our second time and we are already planning on returning next year. Thanks Paul and Shelia!

Loved It! Will be back next year!

Very spacious home for our family of 10. The temps were frigid but the house was warm and comfortable.The home comes stocked with all that you need.The backyard , deck and pond look beautiful. We will definitely plan to come back with warmer weather and will try the good wine !.

Extremely spacious

What a wonderful country setting to enjoy sharing memories at our annual sibling get together. Open concept kitchen. dinning and gathering area is stocked to aide in preparing family meals. Owners have prepared the 5 bedroom 5 1/2 bath home for comfort. Exceptionally clean. This is our second time here. Spencer is a nice town, to the north, to shop and visit. The home of the famous Clay County Fair (starts weekend after Labor Day). Thanks to Sheila and Paul.

A hidden GEM in peaceful middle America...IOWA

Everyone had a great time. What a wonderful facility! Very comfortable and welcoming. WE all enjoyed our time here -- we were 8 adults and 17 grandchildren ranging from 6 to 13 years of age. I have just a few comments or suggestions -- we were unable to locate a grill brush and grill utensils. Maybe we just did not look in the right place, but they would have been helpful. The only other item was Kleenex tissues -- it would have been helpful to know beforehand if they are not provided. Otherwise, everything else was wonderful. Thank you.

Great vacation stay. We all enjoyed the house.

Our family of 14 spent hours swimming, fishing and kayaking. We even kayaked the Little Sioux. The house was spacious enough for everyone to have a little hideaway". Lori was marvelous and we had such a delightful time sampling the wine with her. Our plans are to return."

This place had everything we needed for a family vacation. The house is huge and comfortable. Lots of space to play or do things inside if it's a rainy day. Outside has a lovely large mowed lawn for plenty of yard games. The pond was a great place to swim and boat. And of course the winery was a great thing to have a short walk away.

Perfect for our group. Inside and out were comfortable, safe for the older and younger ones!

Our family of 18 from 4 states met for some time to reconnect; ages 12 to 78. The lay out of the house made it easy to have the space needed to have privacy and a space to gather. We brought a puzzle and games, so a lot of time was spent enjoying each other. The Internet connection was great- but we encouraged people time. There was a well stocked kitchen with plenty of refrigerator space (but bring extra ice). The pool/ ping pong table space in the basement was great for the younger ones. We traveled in late June and the weather was fairly cool for that time of year so we really enjoyed the large deck on the back of the house. (Not too hot! ) We also enjoyed the dock by the pond with canoes/kayaks and great fire pit area. It was a little chilly for swimming, but the water was very clear!!! The adults also enjoyed a tasting at the winery. It is a beautiful, peaceful, quaint location. There is a small grocery store about 4 miles away... we traveled to Spencer to pick up a larger amount of supplies, and spend a few hours. It is a quick-easy 20 minute drive. One late afternoon we headed to Aronolds Park for a free concert and supper. It also was an easy drive ( less than an hour). I would highly recommend this location if you want a space that is away from a lot of people, and appreciate nature. There is a sheep farm located not far from the house ( you can't hear them), but the flies inside and outside the house were annoying. There are also a few small general maintenance items that need to be addressed, but overall it was a wonderful spot! Clean and well supplied, and a great fit for our family. Shelia, Lory, and Tyler were helpful and kind. Thanks for a great stay.

A wonderful place to reconnect!

We had our family reunion at this quiet getaway in Linn Grove the kids had lots of fun canoeing fishing playing ball in the huge back yard, water balloons etc the adults enjoyed the large home and both decks to enjoy the view. this is a huge home lots of beds, bathrooms laundry what more could you ask? would definitely go there again

EXCELLENT QUIET HOME

We really enjoyed the house and would probably stay there again. There was an issue with the drain in the main basement shower and the water pressure was good. But over all a great place to stay.

Memorial Weekend

Nice house, love the open first floor. Clean bathrooms. Showing a little age in the kitchen appliances but they work, except the ice maker, and perfectly sufficient for our use. This is our third year and we will be back next April. We were able to use the back patio and sit in the nice weather and over looked the pond.

Just what we wanted

I thought I left a review but I will leave another as it was so good. The house is big with lots of comfortable beds. Kitchen well stocked, plenty of towels. Large dining table was great for our group of women to sit around and play games. The weather was nice so we enjoyed sitting on the deck. We usually go to different places each time we get together but we may break that routine and come back here. We loved it.

Relaxing, awesome

What a wonderful place for our family to have their Christmas, plenty of room for everyone to spread out and play games, had winter fun outside, the wine tasting was great and little kids loved every minute of the place. Adults loved that everyone had a bed. 2 full kitchens were awesome, refrigerator space was great. . .we have no complaints what so ever. Thank You for all you did for us that weekend. So very accommodating. Will use it again and will tell all our family and friends!

Christmas in February

Our large family (18) has stayed here two years in a row to celebrate Christmas and we love this house! Big enough for all of us, comfortable and clean with jacuzzi tubs and a ping pong table as a bonus! Highly recommend!

Cabin on the Lake, InnSpiration B&B

Sheila was wonderful. This was the third time I have stayed, with two different groups of people. Everyone loved the place, the house, the Vineyard, the decks, the yard. I will be recommending it to all of my friends.

We loved staying at Innspiration. It is a beatifil home with everything you could possibly need.

Myself and four siblings, along with our spouses (10 of us) get together annually fulfilling a promise we made when our Mother passed away. This is our fourth year and the first time to meet at the Country Home overlooking Inspiration Winery. We will be making our reservation for next year for sure. We were very pleased with the wonderful accommodations, fully equipped kitchen, huge gathering area on the main floor and 5 bedrooms with a bathroom for each. We come for three nights. We arrive and visit on Thursday, sight-see and shop on Friday, watch college football on Saturday and head home on Sunday. We prepare most meals and love the huge dining table to gather around. We would have appreciated the ability to watch cable television in the main floor gathering area...maybe it will be available next time.

Only in IOWA

All kitchen items you would ever need are there. Sheila, the owner keeps in touch before your visit. LORI, the housekeeper does an excellent job. The winery is cool also. The scenery, all the grape vines, are beautiful.

We have stayed at InnSpiration B & B twice now, and we just love it! Spacious-clean!

This was our third brother/sister reunion at the inn. We're coming back next year for sure. Paul and Shelia are great hosts. The house accommodates my 10 sibs and our spouses and there is so much to do in the area that after three years we are still finding new areas/ antique store to visit. Beautiful place to relax and refresh yourself.

Perfect

We love Innspiration! They have a great vacation home at a peaceful spot in the Iowa countryside. The pond makes for sweet canoeing and they make fantastic Iowa wine! We have stayed 2 years in a row and both weeks provided the peaceful vacation we were looking for. Our family consists of 8 adults and 8 kids (ages infant to 14 years old) and we had plenty of space to spread out.

This home is a beautiful, spacious, comfortable home that accommodates a large group.

Our experience with our kids and grandkids was great! The setting was beautiful, very child friendly. The five bedrooms and baths made it perfect for every family to have their own room. Plenty of space in the huge home for eleven people. Sheila and her family were very accommodating. The pond and water 'toys' were the grandkids' favorite. The winery was a nice escape for grandpa and grandma too.

Fantastic family vacation place

This was the second year our large family vacationed at the Linn Grove property and again had a wonderful stay. The house is large enough for all of us (19) and the pond is clean for swimming and great for fishing. The only suggestion I have is that it would be nice to have a tv in the king room" since the other large bedrooms have a tv. We have already rented the house for our 2017 family vacation."

Another great year

Our family really enjoyed our week at Inspiration Vacation Home. The house was very spacious, clean and comfortable. It had absolutely everything we needed. The 3 refrigerators were great as we took all of our food and beverages for the week. Our youngest family appreciated the large 2 queen bedroom in the basement where there was plenty of room for their 9 and 6 yr olds along with room for a pac.n play for their 18 month old to nap away from everyone else. Our family members came and left throughout the week but one night we had 22 people sleeping comfortably, some on couches and air mattress. And the pond was phenomenal! We had use of canoes, Kayaks, and paddle boat throughout our stay. Even our 6 yr old had a blast diving off the diving board In the middle of the pond. Sheila and Paul were so helpful making our reservations, answering our questions, and getting us anything we needed. We plan to return sometime!!! Thanks, Sheila, Paul and Caretaker.

Beautiful and homey!

This is a very beautiful country home overlooking a nice clear pond with good bass fishing. We had a house full for a couple days and there was entertainment for all. The owners are very nice people and are more than outgoing to make the stay perfect! Thank you for making the stay awesome you are wonderful people!

Beautiful well kept country home!

It was our second stay at this house. 7 women that use that as a chance to reconnect as we are coming from different directions. The house is very clean. It is large and the bedrooms are great as some have two beds. That is a big deal for us. We love the kitchen and dining room. Two refrigerators in the upstairs kitchen is the best. We use those. Bathroom towels are plentiful and good material. We have not been able to sit outside on the deck as the first time it was too cold and the second time too windy. Not the fault of the landlords, just Mother Nature. We are already planning on returning next year.

Great time was had by all

Our family of 18 stayed here over Christmas. The accommodations were great! Enough bedrooms and bathrooms for everyone (and jacuzzi tubs!), 2 kitchens, lots of space to spread out and enjoy family time. We played games, pool, ping pong, watched movies and just hung out. Beds were really comfortable with nice linens and it was so convenient that towels were provided. Also a huge bonus that there is a laundry room! Only complaint is that there are no sharp knives, so if you need one, bring one with you - this wasn't a big deal. :) Overall, it was exactly what we needed.

Perfect for large families!

Our family met here for Thanksgiving, and the house was perfect for us. We had plenty of bedrooms, and the kids could watch TV and play downstairs while the adults enjoyed games and conversation upstairs. The owners were friendly and helpful if we needed anything. We hope to return again!

Perfect for a Family Get-Together

Pheasant hunters from Minnesota

My husband and I arranged a weekend get-a-way here with my 4 siblings and their spouses. The house was perfect. It offered plenty of bedrooms for the 10 of us, several 'visiting' areas and the kitchen provided everything needed to prepare our meals. Our stay included a walk around the pond to the winery which was enjoyed by all. We definitely hope to return again. AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME!!!!

Family gathering - perfect location

This is a wonderful property. This was our second stay and we hope to do it again. The property is very clean. has so much room and the setting is beautiful.. It is a little out of the way but that is part of the beauty. The owners are wonderful and the winery on the property is great also.

This is a GREAT Place

This was our first (and not last!!) stay at the property. The place is very clean, spacious, and comfortable. It was a perfect place for our reunion group to meet as there is plenty of space to come together as a group or spend time in individual areas. We had a great time at the winery that included the stomping of the grapes, which was a scheduled event that weekend! The owners were great to deal with. We enjoyed the scenic area and the fact we were not in surrounded by busyness. Spencer and Okoboji were easy driving distance for shopping for the women and golfing for the men.

Great place to stay

Our family just finished our 3-night stay here with another dear family. In total, there were 4 adults and 12 kids ages 4-14. EVERYBODY had fun during our stay at this house. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this place. This place was absolutely the BEST place for our 2 families to have time together away from the hustle and bustle of the city. First of all, the house was ENORMOUS and GORGEOUS! For real, the pictures don't do this place justice. The main floor has a gourmet kitchen, massive dining area (we sat 12 around the table easily), a 20-ft or longer buffet, 2 living rooms, 2 very large bedrooms with 2 queen beds EACH, each bedroom had its own luxury bathroom with 3-person jacuzi tub and walk-in closet, a main floor half bath, and 4 access points to 3 different decks. Downstairs there is a very large living area with a pool table/ping pong table convertable, another full sized kitchen, 1 bedroom with a queen bed, 1 bedroom with a king bed, and 1 bedroom with 2 queen beds. Each bedroom had its own bathroom. Also downstairs there was a laundry room. We had 12 people staying and felt like we could have had 12 more staying there easily! Everything was CLEAN. We have stayed in rentals before that were clean-ish; meaning surface level clean, but some of the deep cleaning had been neglected. NOT HERE! This place was lick-the-toilet clean! We really appreciated that. Outside there was a front and back yard that was so big I can't even really describe it. We spent most of our time in the back yard playing soccer, volleyball, stomp rockets, and swinging on their swing set. We can see the pong from the back yard: it isn't too far. But there is also a very thick barrier of tall, beautiful reeds surrounding the pond where the yard is. We had to walk just a little bit through the vineyard to get to the dock. I really appreciated that the pond was not too easily accessible because we had little kids who couldn't swim, so I wasn't worried that they would fall in! The pond was absolutely the highlight of our trip. First of all, I am not exaggerating when I say that it was crystal clear. With my legs pointed straight downward, the people on the dock could still see my toe nail polish through the water....it was truly incredible! It wasn't scummy and nasty like most ponds. There were 2 kayaks, 2 canoes, and a paddle boat...it was AWESOME! For a truly relaxing getaway, this property is second to none. It is the BEST

Country living at it's finest!

This vacation house was perfect for our large family of kids and grandkids and we had plenty of room for a week of family fun. The pond is lovely and the kids enjoyed swimming, fishing and canoeing. Spencer is a short drive away for shopping and Arnold's Park/Okoboji is an easy drive also. We have already rented the house for 2016. The only suggestion I have is possibly a tv in the nook" on the main level."

Wonderful vacation site

Had a wonderful time. Everything exceeded our expectations. Accommodations were spectacular- beautiful dishes, table ware, high quality linens. Loved fishing and canoeing walking the country roads, visiting the winery. We would definitely come back.Thanks so much for opening your house to us.

The Best

The house was wonderful. It was very clean, beautifully decorated and fully furnished with everything we needed for a fantastic weekend stay. It was so quiet and peaceful in the countryside. The only thing I would add would be a fire pit in the back yard.

What a treasure this place is! We arrived to a beautiful, clean, HUGE space for our family to enjoy time together. It's actually a bed and breakfast and you can rent the whole thing! Friendly/responsive owners. Clean white towels and sheets, soft comfortable beds, bathrooms for all...spaces to hang out together, or apart...wonderful great room with large table and kitchen where we spent most of our time! Oh and there's a pool table - surprise! Bought some of their wine at the local grocery store to enjoy at home as a memoir. Thank you for a wonderful weekend. We couldn't have hoped for more.
