About Horrmundsgården i Sälen

Horrmundsgården is a renovated one hundred years old cozy and quiet B&B in the middle of the woods in Dalarna, Sweden. The nature around the hotel is stunning with the forest and lakes all around us. In wintertime Horrmundsgården is the perfect place to return to after a day of skiing or snowmobiling and in summer here you can relax after a day of hiking or cycling in the mountains. The perfectly calm weather is absolutely wonderful throughout the year whether its +25°C or -25°C. The rooms are 12 in total, 3 double rooms, 8 quadruple rooms and one that fits six people. They all have bunk beds and a view of the forest. Each room is centrally ventilated and there is free Wi-fi. You can bring you own bedsheets or rent from us. On site we have an indoor electrically heated sauna as well as a traditional wood heated sauna cabin outside. There is free parking outside and we welcome animals upon request. Our Scandinavian breakfast buffet includes local bread, cereal, porridge and waffles among other things. There is also a large fully equipped guest kitchen so you can take care of your meals yourselves. The closest grocery stores and restaurants are about 20 minutes away in Sälen and Sörsjön. We are located less than half an hour from the largest ski resorts in Scandinavia, Sälen and Stöten and about 50 minutes from Trysil in Norway. The national park Fulufjället is breathtaking and about an hour's drive away. There are fishing lakes and streams all around us and you can buy a fishing licence here all year round. In wintertime you can hire a snowmobile and skis and even book a dog sledding trip close by. We draw our own cross-country ski track right into the forest above the hotel which is free for you to utilize. The snowmobile tracks are less than one hundred meters away. When the snow has melted away you can hike on marked tracks in the area, play golf, mountain bike or hire a quad bike. We have two canoes on site you can hire by the hour.
