Amadeo Hotel Schaffenrath (Salzburg, Austria)

The neighbourhood is fine. It’s nearby a shopping mall and there is a bus stop to take you into the city. The bus comes comes frequently during the hour. There is a lovely walking path on the river Salzach that you will find enchanting.

It’s a pretty decent breakfast served during the morning. A choice of cheeses, meats, sundries tomatoes, bacon, sausage, and eggs will certainly fill you up. There is also a choice of fruits, cereals, yoghurt, and beverages.

Reception appear to do their best to be helpful in all circumstances.. Even with the differences in language, the staff members do their best to communicate. They are helpful with suggestions for places to go as well.

The outside of the hotel gives you the impression that you are in for something modern and clean, but it’s not that way at all. The inside looks derelict. Don’t be surprised if your room looks like it hasn’t been vacuumed since forever, no clean towels are provided, and you may find there is no shower curtain either. Not emptying the trash, not washing dirty glasses, and an overall lack of competence in the cleaning department is a let-down.

There is no air conditioning. If you can’t take the heat and want to stay at this hotel, it’s probably best that you visit during the cold months.

The Wi-Fi is supposed to be throughout the hotel, but it’s not. In fact, there’s hardly any Wi-Fi at all.
