Positive Reviews
positive:
Modern, welcoming design and furniture
The rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows offer an
inspiring view of the city, while the beds are incredibly comfortable.
Cleanliness reigns over the generously large rooms. The furniture, décor, and light
fixtures make for a truly unique atmosphere.
positive:
Varied and thoughtful breakfast options
The restaurant of the hotel is highly appreciated, not just for the décor and friendly staff, but also for the food choices and the interest they take in catering for everyone's needs. They even have a bread toaster dedicated exclusively to gluten-free bread for those with celiac disease.
positive:
Convenient location with easy downtown access
The great view available from the hotel's windows focuses right on Winnipeg's downtown area; often, whatever you see is reachable by foot. Plus, you will be sitting right across the street from MTS Centre arena. If you are into more exclusivist activities, consider visiting the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, golf clubs, or Burton Cummings Theatre (originally known as Walker Theatre) nearby.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Inconvenience when the elevator doesn't work
The building has no stairs and even though the elevator works like charm almost all the time, it has its moments of weakness. When that happens, not being able to go into your room or to a meeting room may not be pleasant at all.
negative:
Rooms lack certain facilities
Having access to a fridge and microwave is not uncommon for a decent hotel. Nevertheless, while the rooms do not include these two, the staff is able to provide a fridge. There is one microwave available in the lobby as well.
negative:
Parking is a tad expensive
If you are driving your own car to Winnipeg, finding a safe parking space may be an extra reason for concern. While the hotel has a parking area nearby, it is not a private one and various guests consider the daily fees a bit high.
